The Company

KC Universal Sports Network, a subsidiary of KC Universal, a name that originated in 2012, became the official name for such network originally launched in 2017, and was the driving force to become a place for creatives to join in and showcase their talents and market their projects. Started off as a news network reporting the goings-on at SHOWSOTROS Productions and book review website The Seeds of Books, KCU went on to purchase and merge both entities into one 'super network.'

The main force behind this network company is Kris Caballero, who started and launched SHOWSOTROS back in November 21, 2008; The Seeds of Books back in July 14, 2012 and KC Universal Network in April 21, 2017.

From creative video productions to writing and reviewing, KCU Network showcases various yet specific interests that cater to its own audiences and fans all on one site. It is also the place to discuss and share ideas that otherwise gets very little to no attention, along with bringing general, fun entertainment for our audiences old and new.

Created in the month of July, and going online in August, KC Universal Sports Network opened as a rekindled passion into the world of sports. The founder's love for all things sports began when he was 9 years old, recording the LA Lakers versus LA Clippers on VHS back in late 1997. Having played kick ball, baseball, basketball and bowling growing up, Kris' uncanny enjoyment in competition has enabled him to enjoy and bring out his view(s) on the games themselves as well as the current talents playing it.

The Founder

Beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but its true meaning behind the making of it can only come from the main man himself: Kris Caballero. Having done video production since 2001, starting off producing slideshows with background music became the seeds sown for Kris' passion to blossom into a work of uniqueness. Whether the projects are paid gigs or just for fun, Kris injects creative efforts to make his videos/films stand out—that eye-catching moment that grabs your attention before the start. Technologically speaking, he has used nearly every medium to produce his projects, from VHS to VHS-C, right up there with HDV, P2 (tapeless) and ProRes 4444/BRAW workflows.

Knowing that editing has gotten him the reputation as "the man who makes videos," Kris has also ventured into other avenues of production such as audio production (podcasting), photography, and even computer science (software development). No matter the difficulty in producing, Kris always finds a way, and often does. Having freelance experience since high school, it's impossible to find quality work done diligently and integrating the endless ideas Kris brings onto the table. Better off with quality than quantity, and every project reflects that. Born in Los Angeles, California, nearly wanting to become a professional athlete growing up, Kris hasn't looked back and prefer the strenuous workouts in creating and producing original entertainment for the masses.

Hopping back and forth between careers, and then finally settling in to creative productions and digital video technologies, Kris is fuly focused on building and network empire to showcase his passions and talents for everyone to see and enjoy. It is his hope that such hard work will be the referral and basis to those wanting to do the same. No matter what, put in the work and do you, and let the chips fall where they may.

Considered an "old soul" or a "nostalgic," it has only been a matter of time now that Kris has taken matters into his own hands and prove his artistry as his form of expression.
